PHM Right to Health Campaign - Australia
PHM Victoria held a small meeting for interested people in March 2007. We are interested in hearing from anyone in Australia who has an interest in the Right to Health. See the PHM global site or for more information about Australia's involvement email us.
Internet Workshops
PHM Oz has begun holding monthly internet workshops to debate current global health issues. We are currently working on compulsory licensing and have developed a resources page. See here for more information on how to participate in internet workshops.

Open letter to WHO Director General

Doctors for Iraq - Australian Tour
Dr Salam Ismael is a doctor from Iraq who came to the second People's Health Assembly in Ecuador. Dr Salam made a huge impression on those present. Some PHM activists were involved in helping bring Dr Salam to speak in Australia. Professor Fran Baum, WHO Commissioner on the Social Determinants of Health and PHM activist from South Australia coauthored an article in the Public Health Association of Australia's newsletter about one of Dr Salam's presentations. PHM Governance Structure
In February 2006 a group appointed by the PHM Global Steering Committee met in Frankfurt to discuss recommendations for the new governance structure for PHM globally and a new location for the Global Secretariat. See the photos

Launch of the Global Health Watch
Following the release of the Global Health Watch in Cuenca Ecuador during the second People's Health Assembly, Professors Fran Baum and Gavin Mooney launched the alternative world health report in Perth on Monday 26 September. Read more
Asia Health Forum
Health Action International Asia Pacific (HAIAP) was one of organisations that established the People's Health Movement and co-sponsored the first People's Health Assembly. Read about the exciting Asia Health Forum held 25-27 April in Malaysia. Read more
PHM launches UNICEF WATCH
Berkeley, Bangalore and Manila; 28 April 05: The newly appointed chief of UNICEF has come under heavy criticism from health activists worldwide. PHM is launching a "UNICEF WATCH" to monitor the new director's 'anti-children' activities and thus defend UNICEF and the rights of children. Read more
Community Health Links Project
PHM Australia is developing a Community Health Links Project to partner Community Health Centres in Australia to brother/sister organisations in the majority world. Read more
